7 Proven Tactics to Drive AI Adoption in Your Organization

Creating a healthy and flourishing ecosystem to drive adoption of AI is no easy feat. I wanted to write my tactics (think: idea sparks) that will help change managers, program managers and HR leaders simplify the process and bring AI adoption strategy to life. 1. Make AI Access Effortless

Start by making AI tools the default option in your browsers and mobile devices. Regular in-product messaging keeps AI capabilities top of mind, reminding users of valuable features right when they need them. This seamless integration removes friction and makes AI usage feel natural rather than forced.


2. Use bite size, short form video

Short-form videos featuring real users sharing their recent AI wins create powerful social proof. When employees see their colleagues successfully using AI tools, it builds confidence and provides practical examples they can immediately apply to their own work.


3. Leadership and their language

The language around AI adoption matters tremendously. When leadership advocates for AI use, their message should consistently emphasize how these tools augment the people experience– not replace it.


4. Learning at your own pace

Peer-based, self-paced learning programs give employees the flexibility to build their AI knowledge at a comfortable pace. This approach respects different learning styles and allows people to develop deeper understanding through hands-on experience, leading to more sustainable, long term adoption.


5. Link AI Skills to Career Growth

Including AI competency in your performance assessment frameworks sends a clear signal about its importance. When employees see that AI skills contribute to their professional development and career advancement, it creates natural motivation for adoption and mastery.

6. For my managers - Address Roadblocks Head-On

Regular manager check-ins focused specifically on AI adoption challenges help identify and remove obstacles quickly. These conversations create a safe space for honest feedback about setbacks and ensure that barriers to adoption don't become permanent roadblocks.


7. Maintain healthy and active recognition around AI usage.

Highlighting successful implementations and innovative applications creates positive reinforcement and helps build a culture where AI adoption is viewed as an achievement worth celebrating.


These seven tactics can each be further explored to identify what needs to be done, by when, and how to prioritize for maximum impact to your organization.
