As someone who's seen the transformative power of change firsthand, I'm here to tell you that the organizations who will stand the test of time will have singularly prioritized on one element: building change capability.

What Does it Mean to Build Change Management Capability?
It's about empowering your people to understand and accept change as a part of their job. They can see change in any context (organizational, technology driven, process related) as an opportunity to innovate and grow. As leaders, it is our responsibility to create an environment conducive to change becoming the norm, because let's face it - it is. The majority of the world’s employees (59%) are not engaged, and 18% are actively disengaged. (Gallup, 2023)
How do you build Change Capability
Start with your leaders: By training leaders to manage and lead change, organizations ensure that these leaders are equipped with the necessary skills to guide their teams through transitions confidently. Leaders should role model the desired behaviors and attitudes, demonstrating adaptability, resilience, and a positive approach to change. When leaders consistently support and advocate for change initiatives, they inspire their teams to embrace and contribute to these efforts.
Employ a Change Management team: Build this capability by investing in practitioners who know, understand and value the complexities of people. A well rounded change management team helps focus, streamline and manage your change efforts across the organization.
Change Management has truly never been more important in the context of the workplace - and I'm so excited to share my perspective with you. Follow along!
